Ghost Town

This past Saturday Adam and I drove out to Nelson, NV where there is an old ghost town/mining camp. It was pretty cool, but the couple that owns the town has done a bit of restoration which made it feel a little bit fake. Supposidly in it's hey-day the town was notorious for it's frequent murders great mining claims. In recent history a few movies have been shot there like 3000 Miles to Graceland with Kevin Costner (never saw it) and a few others that I can't remember right now.

"Just Knotted"

This past weekend Adam and I took a trip out to Crested Butte, CO to witness the beautiful wedding between our friends Devlin and Ana. Devlin and Ana actually met last year when Adam and Devlin were on a climbing trip to Mexico. It was a very cool mixing of cultures as Ana is Mexican and some of her family came up for the wedding.

Last week Jody, Amy (Jody's sister), and I went to San Diego to check the place out. While it was not exactly beach weather because it was overcast most of the time, we explored the city, went to the zoo and had a good time.

Insanity

Last weekend Abbie, Christi, Travis, and a few of Travis' friends who are actually acrobats/riggers from Venezuela, and I went out to Lake Mojave (Lake Mead, but on the other side of the dam) for what we thought was going to be a relaxing day at the beach. However, instead, we got a day spent with most of redneck NV and AZ on a beach of glass, trash and gasoline. We did finally find a little cove that was a bit less trashed (although there were still diapers on the beach) and managed to get the dogs there (see pics above) to salvage the day. At least to company was good!
